Like every end of the month, it’s time to get to know the PS Plus games of May 2021 for PS4 and PS5 . If you haven’t already, remember that you still have time to download the April games, including Oddworld: Soulstorm and Days Gone . But let’s see what the service has in store for us this month.

If you are a PlayStation Plus subscriber, in May 2021 you will be able to download Wreckfest: Drive Hard for free. Drive Last. for PlayStation 5, Battlefield V and Stranded Deep for PS4, and the Spanish game Waves Out! as part of the PlayStation Talents initiative. All four free PS Plus games will be available from May 4 through May 31 .

Here is a summary of what each of them offers (as well as links to their analysis, if available) and we remind you of the rest of the benefits you have access to for being part of PlayStation Plus in May 2021 .

Wreckfest: Drive Hard. Drive Last. (PS5)

  • Developer : Bugbear Entertainment
  • Released : June 14, 2018 (PC), August 27, 2019 (PS4 and Xbox One), June 1, 2021 (PS5) and late 2021 (Xbox Series X | S)
  • Genre : vehicle racing and fighting

Bugbear Entertinament, responsible for the FlatOut saga of “bangs with cars” , launched in 2018 (PC) and 2019 (PS4 and Xbox One) Wreckfest: Drive Hard. Drive Last . game that acts as a spiritual successor to its star saga, as well as a tribute to classics of the genre such as Destruction Derby .

So now you can imagine what awaits you at Wreckfest : races in which anything goes, and in which reaching the finish line is just as important … as doing it in one piece. One of the highlights is the deformation of the vehicles; every impact, be it a graze or a frontal collision, is reflected on the vehicle in a surprisingly realistic way. Not only that: the impacts also affect the handling of the vehicle.

After debuting in the last generation, Wreckfest: Drive Hard. Drive Last is ready to arrive on PS5 with its corresponding improvements (4K, 60fps … you know). As with Oddworld: Soulstorm last month, the version that ships with the May 2021 PS Plus games is exclusively for PS5 users . In other words, it is not possible to download the version of Wreckfest for PS4.

Battlefield V (PS4)

  • Developer : DICE
  • Released : November 20, 2018
  • Genre : FPS

We can tell you little about Battlefield V that you don’t already know. The latest installment of the war game developed by DICE took us back to the origins of the saga, fighting battles in some of the most emblematic conflicts of World War II, either in multiplayer mode or in the intense story mode (watch the prologue , because it is cinnamon stick).

Large-scale battles that are hard to tire of, a dazzling technical section and a content offering that has grown considerably since its launch in 2018, complement what is undoubtedly the star title of the PS Plus games of May. 2021 . If you want to elaborate on what it offers, we miss our analysis of Battlefield V .

Stranded Deep (PS4)

  • Developer : Beam team games
  • Released : April 21, 2020
  • Genre : survival

And if survival is your thing, keep an eye on Stranded Deep . Developed by the Australian studio Team Beam Games, the game puts us in the shoes of a shipwrecked man who, due to a plane crash, finds his bones on a desert island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

You already know what comes next: hunting, fishing, building wooden boats to move around the sea, visiting other islands and archipelagos … And many other options. There is also a good dose of crafting missing , allowing us to create a series of survival tools. And all this without ever losing sight of the health, hunger, thirst and sleep meters, because if we do it … Let’s just say that a happy ending does not await us.

Stranded Deep was released for PS4 and Xbox One in 2020, and now, PlayStation Plus users have the opportunity to get it for free during the month of May 2021 .

Waves Out! (PS4)

  • Developer : Crevice
  • Released : January 20, 2021
  • Genre : platforms

Like every month, the PS Plus games of May 2021 include a game belonging to the PlayStation Talents platform, dedicated to promoting talent in the Spanish industry.

This time  the game chosen is Waves Out! , the first work by Crevice from Bilbao, which puts us in the role of the sympathetic Magnetín: a being with magnetic powers that we must use to collect as many spheres as possible and take them to the scoring hole. In addition to the 14 levels of the single player mode, Waves Out! It also has a 1 vs. 1, perfect for snacking with our friends.
