Yesterday, EA DICE revealed that three Battlefield the games would be permanently offline in the coming months, as the team “focuses on current and future titles”. Following that announcement, we took another look at EA’s “Online Services Shutdown” support page and spotted four more offline games in 2023.
All of these titles are EA games from the Xbox 360 era, and none of them are currently available for digital purchase. Your online services will go offline on several different dates, which we will include below.
- Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning (May 15, 2023)
- shadows of the damned (March 28, 2023)
- Union (June 15, 2023)
- Deformation (May 15, 2023)
The first three of these titles are all backward compatible and can still be played on modern Xbox consoles using physical copies. However, they have already been digitally removed, so Xbox Series S users are out of luck at this point. Of course, remember that kingdoms of amalur it has since received a remastered version on Xbox.
All online features will be suspended for these games on the above dates, so if there’s anything you want to access online in these titles, time is running out. Don’t be surprised if we hear that many more EA games are shutting down their servers throughout 2023; We will let you know if we detect anything.
Do you have any of these games? Are you still using its online features? Let us know!
