Fortnite: Update 17.10 is live – these are the patch notes

Epic Games has completed maintenance on Fortnite and released Update 17.10 on all platforms. Matching this, the patch notes have now also been presented.

Among other things, players now have the chance to get to the UFO in the world. Alien platforms are now scattered all over the place, sending beams to the ground and transporting you to the mother ship.

The Epic Games blog states that players can collect orange balls on the UFO, which – depending on the amount – will provide you with valuable equipment. The platforms appear in cycles on the map and the mother ship only offers space for a limited number of people.

So be quick if you want to pay a visit to the UFO. Another innovation are the alien parasites, which suck on the head of your figure and then equip you with advantages and disadvantages.

The alien parasites protect against head shot damage and make the character run faster and jump higher – but want to have 60 points of your physical condition (shields are not affected by this).

Another update concerns the flying saucers of the alien invaders. The rate of fire of the plasma fire has been reduced, giving you more opportunities to shoot.

In addition, spy scanners now need more time to recharge – the service life of the spy bolts has also been reduced. Have you already reached level 100 of the Battle Pass in Fortnite, bonus rewards are now available, which will bring you new styles for Sunny, Guggimon, Zyg, Doctor Slone and Rick Sanchez.

Fortnite – Major Bug Fixes & Misc

  • Fixed a bug where players could get hit and take damage in moving cars.
  • Fixed a bug where we temporarily disabled the ability to adjust the loot available in the battle lab. This is now possible again.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented Bunker-Jonesy and Doctor Slone’s entries from being completed in the character collection.
  • Please note that there are no floating alien platforms in competitive modes.
