Fortnite update 20.40 details on downtime
The downtime for the 20.40 update will begin around 1:00 PT / 4:00 ET / 9:00 BST on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 with pairing disabled 30 minutes earlier.
It’s unknown how long the downtime will last, but it’s typically one to two hours, depending on the amount of new content added to the game.

Obi-Wan Kenobi Collaboration
There have already been a lot of Star Wars skins in Fortnite, but Epic Games doesn’t stop there as it looks like Obi-Wan Kenobi is coming to the island next.
It makes sense, as the famous Jedi will have its Disney + spin-off series starting May 27, so expect it to arrive in the next couple of weeks.
Lightsabers are thrown
We hope you enjoyed living your Jedi fantasies all over the island as the lightsaber weapon was removed after Fortnite’s 20.40 update.
This is because the current Star Wars “May 4th” celebrations will end after two weeks. Fingers crossed they come back soon!

Fortnite update 20.40 bug fixes
As always, Epic Games will be sending out a number of bug fixes with the 20.40 update, which you can see below:
- Players do not receive toast notifications during a group match with another player.
- The user interface of the Anvil rocket launcher is missing.
- Legendary Perks cannot be changed using the Perk Recombinator in Save the World.
