It seems that the new Japanese development studio Datadyne (quite a name, just like the evil society Johanna Dark faces in Perfect Dark) is off to a good start. They just announced their first project, Forge of the Fae, a turn-based JRPG about an inventor named Fiora. Its premise is that this protagonist investigates “a series of mysterious disappearances” in a “world inspired by ancient Celtic folklore, full of intrigue, adventure and endless possibilities”.
They promise a wide cast of characters, an in-depth combat system and progression, and a story where your decisions will have an impact. This all sounds great, we would also like to apologize for being a little superficial when we say that what stood out to us the most were the graphics. There is more to see than pixel art.
So far the only confirmed platform is Steam, but hopefully they will announce a console version as well. In the meantime, enjoy these gorgeous screenshots below.
