Final Fantasy VII Rebirth launches today its first post-launch update 1.020 with bug fixes and several improvements, including graphics and frame rate performance improvements on PS5.
Version 1.020 launches today or throughout the day, and do not expect new features in the game or different content, but you may notice the graphical improvement, especially in its performance mode, where it left a little to be desired, as acknowledged by its creators.
Below you have all the patch notes for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, as shared by Square Enix:
- Fixed typos and omissions in some texts.
- Fixed an issue with the controlled character that would occur under certain conditions on the map.
- Fixed an issue where Red XIII’s “Lunatic High” and “Warrior’s Inspiration” skills were easily cancelled during battle.
- Fixed an issue where enemies would stop under certain conditions during battle.
- Fixed a progress issue that occurred under certain conditions in the mission.
- Improved frame rate and overall game stability.
- Added “Sharp” and “Smooth” options to the performance mode display output settings.
- Improved graphics quality.
- Reverse camera settings are now reflected in “sliding” mode when operating a sky chocobo.
- Reverse camera settings are now reflected in the target minigame camera.
- Improved guidance support when climbing the vines in the “Mithril Mine” location.
- Added difficulty settings to the customization screen for the “Condor Fort” and “Gambit Gears” mini-games.
In addition to bug fixes, difficulty settings have been added to two mini-games and the camera settings have been changed. But the most striking are those three points that we highlight in bold.
On one hand, the frame rate and stability of the game have been increased, and on the other hand, the graphic quality has been improved.
When it comes down to it, we will have to see how it is in the game to see if we notice changes or if it is only in the performance mode, where they said there would be a patch to fix the low graphic quality of that mode at higher frame rate.
Precisely, two display options have been added , “Sharp” and “Smooth”, so we know that this mode will look different and will offer new graphic forms.
Performance Mode or Graphics Mode, Sharp or Smooth mode. Playing with a PS5 feels more and more like a PC. The PS5 Pro is already missing.
