Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster, the series that includes the first six classic installments of the best-known JRPG series, is coming to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on April 19.
This edition combines nostalgia and respect for the original work with some interesting additions that greatly improve the user experience, such as disabling random encounters or adjusting the experience obtained, as well as a remastered soundtrack with themes that all fans of the series recognize. But if you’re looking for the purest experience, fret not, as there’s also the option to switch to Nobuo Uematsu’s original music at any time during gameplay.
All six titles in the Pixel Remaster series can be purchased together or separately, and the digital version is now available for pre-order for Nintendo Switch. For those who get this collection before May 25, there are a few perks such as wallpapers, a theme, and an exclusive avatar.
