RPG fans know the name of Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of Final Fantasy and the founder of the MistWalker studio, which has brought us various JRPGs over the past few decades. Sakaguchi’s latest game is Fancy but unfortunately it is currently exclusive to Apple Arcade, although its creator points out that could come to the pc later.
This Monday, the IGN Japan portal reported that Hironobu Sakaguchi was present at the Magic 2023 festival in Monaco, where he held a question and answer session with his fans. One of these fans asked him if Fantasian, his latest RPG available on Apple Arcade, could arrive on other platforms. To this, Sakaguchi said he was interested in bringing Fantasian to PC.
“We have also received many requests to release the game on PC, and there have been requests for a sequel.Sakaguchi replied before giving us hope for both possibilities. “We would like to continue working as hard as possible to meet your expectations,” was the full response, which could indicate that MistWalker is considering a PC port of Fantasian.
Fantasian originally arrived in 2021 and since then it has been an exclusive video game for Apple Arcade, Apple’s subscription service that gives us access to a library of video games on iOS devices, with no microtransactions or in-game purchases. In addition to being directed by Sakaguchi, Fantasian has a soundtrack composed by Nobuo Uematsu, known for his work on the Final Fantasy franchise.
Although Sakaguchi previously stated that Fantasian was going to be his last game, in December we announced that he was still not retiring and was already working on his next dark fantasy game. “I have started writing the script for a new title which is not yet announced”, was what Hironobu Sakaguchi said at the time and we have not received any further news about it.
