With all eyes on FFXIV 6.4, Square Enix’s previous patch is, as you can imagine, much smaller than what we might expect to accompany Final Fantasy XIV The Dark Throne. However, there are still a plethora of PvP job updates as well as changes to the MMORPG’s Abyssos dungeon, so here’s everything you need to know.

While Dark Throne’s shiny new content update is all Eorzean can talk about, FFXIV patch 6.38 updates a whole host of different PvP work abilities (including small nerfs to my beloved Ninja ), as well as removing the weekly restriction in Abyssos.

FFXIV Abyssos Weekly Restriction Removed

There are two changes to the Abyssos raid, one specifically related to Unsung Blade of Abyssos. These will now drop more than once per week at random, meaning you can farm them to exchange for Ultralight Tomestones in Radz-At-Han and Labyrinthos.

Additionally, the weekly entry requirement for Pandaemonium: Abyssos (Wild) has been removed and you will now always receive two treasure chests containing unrestricted items. You will also be able to jump to any circle in the raid with the simple press of a button.

  • Removed the weekly restriction on receiving Unsung Blades of Abyssos from Abyssos: The Eighth Circle.
  • The following adjustments have been made to Pandaemonium: Abyssos (Wild):
    • Two treasure chests will now always spawn. Additionally, the weekly restriction on rewards obtained from chests has been removed.
    • Removed the weekly access restriction in all areas of Pandaemonium: Abyssos (wild).
    • Players can now directly access any circle in Pandaemonium: Abyssos (Wild).
  • The item needed to upgrade weapons purchased with Allagan’s Causal Tomestones, Moonshine Brine, can be purchased from the following vendor: Nesvaaz, Radz-at-Han (X:10.6 Y:10.0): Aglaia Coin, Euphrosyne Coin

  • Power boost when targets are within 5 yalms changed from 30,000 to 32,000.
  • Barrier strength changed from absorbing damage for a total of 25% max HP to absorbing damage equal to 24,000 powerful heals.

  • Range reduced from 25 to 20 yalms.

  • Range reduced from 25 to 20 yalms.

  • Range reduced from 25 to 20 yalms.

  • Healing power increased from 6000 to 8000.
  • Damage power increased from 6000 to 8000.
  • White Shift healing power increase reduced from 100% to 50%.
  • Black Shift damage output reduced to 50% from 100%.

Scholar

  • Potency reduced from 4000 to 3000.
  • Barrier strength increased from 4000 to 6000.

  • Casting time reduction granted by the additional effect “Reduces Casting Time of Double Cast” increased from 7.5 seconds to 10 seconds.

crystal conflict

  • Reduced time until Tactical Crystal triggers from 30 seconds to 20 seconds.
    • Following this change, some music played during matches has been adjusted.
      * No adjustments were made to the title “Festival of the Hunt (Endwalker)”.
  • The chance to trigger a pneumatic parry in the Clockwork Castletown scene has been adjusted to increase the chance of a second parry.
  • The fifth season will end and the sixth will begin.
    • At the end of the season, the top 100 players in each data center will receive coupons via the moogle delivery service.
    • Players who finish at Bronze level or above can claim rewards by speaking to the Season Director at the Wolf Wharf (X: 4.9 Y: 5.7).
  • At the start of season six, it will be placed five groups below its final season five ranking, with no stars.
