Far Cry 6, the most controversial shooter in Ubisoft’s sandbox series, is now available as a free game on PC. The developer of Rainbow Six, Watch Dogs, and Splinter Cell is also offering deep discounts on Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Ghost Recon, but you’ll need to act fast if you want to take full advantage of all these offers.
The answer to Ubisoft’s latest open-world shooter is summed up in our own Far Cry 6 review – While some of the technical improvements are worth it, the unwavering approach to the series’ story and structure Far Cry continues to hold her back. However, if you are a Far Cry fan and wanted to try the FC6, but never felt convinced to buy it, now is your chance to try it out.
Far Cry 6 is free February 16-20. After that, it’s 70% off for, according to Ubisoft, “for a limited time.” Any progress made during the Free Weekend will carry over if you decide to purchase the full game.
During the free weekend, you will also have access to the Stranger Things and Rambo crossover missions. Plenty to do, but if you have nothing else to do this weekend and put your foot down, you might be able to browse all that Far Cry 6 has to offer without spending a penny.
In addition to Far Cry 6 available for free, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is currently 67% off, and you can get the open-world game Ghost Recon Breakpoint for 80% off on the Ubisoft store. That’s a lot to get by while we wait for Ubisoft’s long-absent Skull and Bones pirate game, which was recently delayed again.
