Even though it’s only been out for a year, there are some great Elden Ring mods out there already. Talented modders are making FromSoftware’s greatest game even greater, and now you can even travel back in time to one of the developer’s proto-Souls games, King’s Field, by turning Elden Ring into an FPS game. No, I’m not kidding. .
First Person Souls was developed and released by modder ‘Dasaav’ last month, and it’s truly amazing work. The core game mechanics have been changed in Elden Ring so that this project works alongside established open-world gameplay, minus a few tweaks.
Expect slightly different crosshairs, attack direction indicators, animated head tracking, and some changes to your movement and the feel of playing the game, so it’s more in line with an FPS.

You can even enter first-person and third-person mode independently once the Elden Ring mod is installed, and first-person also has a free view mode if you want plenty of nice screenshots. The movement is inspired by a previous title from FromSoftware, King’s Field, which allows you to attack while simultaneously controlling your movement.
While the camera is attached to the character model’s head for certain movements, player running, image zooming for ranged weapons, and arm movement are changed to be smooth in first person, striking a balance between changing small details and keeping the Elden Ring mechanically intact.
The fact that this FPS Elden Ring mod aims to run the game entirely in first person, while tweaking it just enough to give it that old school King’s Field feel is awesome. It breathes new life into The Lands Between while leaving the heart of the adventure intact.
