Battlefield 2042 got off to a rocky start. And that’s putting it mildly. It’s one of the lowest-rated games on Steam – not only do some previous Battlefield entries have more concurrent players, the game might even go free-to-play now in response to its poor performance. In addition, there now appear to be issues with the new zombie survival mode.

Zombie-Survival-Mode

One of the main complaints about Battlefield 2042 is that the experience points are unbalanced and the slow progression is causing frustration among players.

However, one of the most popular game modes, Portal, allows for community-developed modes with their own XP awards. Some of these modes, such as B. the battle royale mode, have become more popular than the base game.

Another of these creations was the zombie survival mode, where players worked in teams of four to take out waves of zombies until help arrived. However, due to the generally unbalanced experience points in Battlefield 2042, players soon saw this new mode as a good place to farm experience points and even created bots to do so.

This has resulted in the mode being removed. Senior Design Director Justin Wiebe tweeted: “I’m not going to lie, this one shouldn’t have gotten through our review process.

Wiebe has already expressed his sympathy for the players and admitted that the fixes to the game are taking too long. The team’s slow progress could be one of the reasons this unbalanced mode went through the review process.

The developers have initially replaced Zombie Survival with the series classic Gun Game. However, they hope they can “fix” it to bring the experience points into line with normal gameplay. This way, players who choose not to farm XP will not be penalized in other campaign modes.
