The more time passes, the more publishers stand out from E3: this time, Nintendo confirms its absence from the show this summer.
Until a few years ago, E3 was simply the must-attend event every year., the opportunity for publishers and studios to unveil their plans for the future and new game projects to make hordes of fans around the world salivate. You will be able to discover various conferences rich in information and advances, which were then talked about for months. Then little by little, the E3 lost its aura.
Nintendo: There is no E3 this year, it’s confirmed
It all started when Nintendo decided to stop live conferences on the famous American show, preferring its own format. : thus, on the sidelines of the show, a Nintendo Direct was planned. Then the Covid-19 arrived, which shook the possibility of carrying out the famous physics event. Since then, nothing has gone right for the show, which has been forced to cancel its holding on several occasions. Inevitably, it did not take long for the competition, led in particular by the Game Awards or the Summer Game Fest, to begin to eclipse E3. For their part, many publishers have followed the path opened by Nintendo, and have started to offer their own conference, each on their own.
This is why E3 is finally becoming an ordinary event, whereas a few years ago it was the great annual mass of video games. And things seem to be getting even more confused for its organizers: after Sony and Microsoft, it’s Nintendo’s turn to announce its absence from the 2023 show.. However, it’s a safe bet that the publisher will offer its own content during a conference on the sidelines of the event. Also, some publishers still seem to rely on E3 to unveil their projects for the year: Konami could unveil its remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 there, while Ubisoft is counting on the event to bring back an old license. from the scene
