For decades, the console wars have been driving gamers crazy, but nowadays gamers just want to know if they can enjoy their favorite video games with their PC or Playstation friends. The same goes for Diablo IV. This popular dungeon crawler franchise has an active multiplayer community, but it’s never had crossplay capabilities before. Will Diablo IV be able to play together on all platforms or are you and your friends limited to the same console?
Can you play crossplay in Diablo IV?
Luckily for friend groups of cross-platform gamers, Diablo IV is cross-playable. A party of four PC players can defeat Lilith as easily as two PlayStation lovers, a PC builder, and an Xbox fanatic. Not only will the final product have crossplay, but so will the Diablo IV beta period.
However, early access and beta players beware: Like many games in beta, Diablo IV’s servers are taking a beating. So, unsurprisingly, cross-platform fans trying to play together will find it even harder to maintain a connection to the server without encountering error codes. Don’t get mad and throw your controller at your TV if crossplay is a little harder during the beta period. Over time, however, we expect Diablo IV crossplay to be smooth, comfortable, and fun for everyone involved.

How do I play Diablo IV on all platforms?
All you need to play with your Playstation, PC or Xbox friends is to log in to your Battlenet accounts. Once in your Battlenet accounts, make friends to see when each of you is online, regardless of platform. Then, when you’re all connected and friends on Battlenet, you can invite each other to your Diablo IV game and defeat the forces of evil together. However, like all Diablo multiplayer, be aware that if you’re playing story mode, it will only count the host’s story progress. Everyone else’s games will continue to have the same mission they left. Only your experience points and your loot will accompany you in the game.
