The Last of Us PC hits Steam in just a few weeks, and AMD is giving away the PlayStation port for free with select graphics cards. It’s true, you can get hooked on apocalyptic action-adventure for absolutely nothing by buying a Radeon RX 7900 XT, XTX or one of the many RX 6000 GPUs, but we don’t know how long.
The Last of Us PC release date was originally supposed to be a few days ago, but a delay means it will now be released on March 28. Naughty Dog says this works to ensure the port is suitable for the best PC build for gaming. so hopefully we won’t encounter any optimization issues when it arrives. That said, the blip also gives companies like AMD a chance to configure some nifty packages, and the latest giveaway from the red team is a winner if you’re looking for a shiny new GPU.
Spotted by Videocardz, an Ebuyer promo page for The Last of Us PC AMD promotion dives into the details, providing a list of eligible GPUs. Although the Radeon RX 7900 XT is included, you won’t have to choose the component giant’s best graphics card to get a copy, as the offer even covers the very cheap AMD Radeon RX 6400.
Of course, we’re still awaiting system requirements for The Last of Us PC, so it remains to be seen if it will work well with all eligible AMD GPUs. The page also omits some details about the bundle, such as its duration and whether the free key will work on Steam or the Epic Game Store.
Of course, this isn’t AMD’s first roundup of free games, as a similar offering included Callisto Protocol and Dead Island 2 with 6000-series cards a few months ago. If this offer is valid, the offer is available at several participating retailers, but we will have to wait for the official terms and conditions to appear.
