The next Dreamlight Valley update is almost here, but Gameloft already has plans for the sequel to Disney’s Game of Life. A new trailer for The Lion King Kingdom of Disney’s Dreamlight Valley shows everyone’s favorite fluffy cats, Simba and Nala, as the king returns to claim his crown from Scar.
Revealed as part of the latest Nintendo Direct showcase, the trailer gives us a glimpse of the upcoming update in April, which sees the pair of Simba and Nala come to your valley with their own kingdom. Gameloft is also teasing a new recipe as part of the update; however, there’s nothing that obviously fits this bill other than the handful of larvae temptingly roasting on a flaming log, so we might have a bit more ‘jungle fare’ than usual .
Dreamlight Valley Lion King update will be released in April 2023 as a free upgrade for Disney Dreamlight Valley. We’ve already had a glimpse of this as part of the planned roadmap for the year, but getting official confirmation that Simba and Nala will be joining is welcome news.
Gameloft promises “a completely new and mysterious story” that will take place in the new kingdom of the Lion King, which will officially see the couple arrive. With the devious Scar already an established part of Dreamlight Valley (and having learned some important lessons on how to behave in the first fun fantasy neighborhood), it’ll be interesting to see how the arrival of Simba and Nala shakes things up.
There’s still no word on Simba’s sidekicks Timon and Pumbaa, though the pair have appeared in teasers in the past, and really, which line best sums up the laid-back nature of life in Dreamlight Valley? than “Hakuna matata?”
Meanwhile, the Disney Dreamlight Valley Encanto update is coming on February 16 as part of Dreamlight Valley Update 3, titled “A Festival of Friendship.” Along with Mirabel, it also includes the arrival of Olaf from Frozen and a new pet bunny. It also promises full door customization, news that personally excites me unreasonably.
