Delving into the lore of Halo Infinite is something very exciting and devastating, the great story that encompasses the Master Chief universe cannot be condensed into a few video games. For this reason, and for many years now, the Halo novels have guided us and taught us a lot about the intriguing background of the saga. As expected, the universe expands and on August 9th we will learn many things about the history that encompasses the Halo Infinite game.

Halo: The Protocol Rubicon will be a novel that will tell us about several unexplained events in Halo Infinite, giving a little light to what has been experienced. Set 6 months ago from the Master Chief’s awakening, the Banished’s fierce attack on the UNSC Infinity, killing practically the entire fleet of humans present there. Additionally, we will learn more about the Spartans who arrived on Zeta Halo and roamed the ring in search of supplies and allies.

Halo Infinite’s story expands and perhaps clarifies with this novel

We’re not going to be under any illusions, but part of this novel may contain playable elements in the campaign update. It is not usual, but by having a parallel plot we can say that this is an official advance of the lore of the game.

However, it should be noted that future events are the ones that will be dealt with in the game, so it is most likely that the novels will work as a common thread to the past. It is already well known that about 66% of the story was cut from Halo Infinite, being the battle with Atriox and, perhaps, the joining of the Spirit of Fire are key factors to consider in the future.

While we have new news about it, we can stay tuned from July 11 since on this date the cooperative technical test will begin in the Halo Infinite campaign, so if you haven’t signed up for the insider program, don’t wait any longer.
