Square Enix does not give up Forspoken, which was received coldly. The game has received a major patch which fixes issues with visuals and gameplay.
The narrative surrounding Forspoken may yet change, thanks to successive patches that improve the game. The latest – numbered 1.10 – affects many major gameplay and image related issues. A while ago the developers reported that they are working on the update and it is finally available. Square Enix’s official website has published a detailed article on the changes it introduces.
Game Changes
Forspoken’s gameplay, despite performing well overall, suffered from several shortcomings. The developers took care to remove them and added new options related to accessibility.
- Remember the last selection in the menu. Activating this option will cause pressing the button responsible for opening the menu to take us to the last tab visited, instead of displaying the map.
- Enemy Facing Changes. With the new options we can decide to automatically change targets after defeating a targeted enemy. We can also influence the focus of the camera.
- Frey’s immunity to his own magic.. A change requested by many players. Finally, we don’t have to worry about the damage of our attacks in the heat of the moment.
All modifications are of course optional, so you don’t have to use them. Above you will find a short video with a presentation of the most important ones.
Graphical changes
Many criticisms leveled at the game were based on the visuals. After the new patch, it should be much better in this regard. The developers worked on the lighting of the placesdue to which buildings and other elements of the environment now have more pleasant lighting (for example, in the corners).
The developers have also tried to improve the optimization of abandonedespecially when it comes to the PC versionBecause he was the one with the biggest problems. Those with hardware that can cope with the recommended requirements should experiment, the developers say. 30% performance improvement. It should be similar for the PS5 version.
Finally, let me remind you that Forspoken debuted on January 24 only on PC and PlayStation 5. The game did not attract many players, but there are also some positive reviews.
