That night kicked off the annual big mass organized by Blizzard Entertainment to make its biggest announcements. In a particular format, the studio notably formalized the upcoming arrival of Diablo II: Resurrected.
Blizzard Entertainment could not go a year without hosting its traditional BlizzCon, not even with a health crisis preventing large gatherings. So in this particular context, the studio had opted for a BlizzConline, in a totally online format. The opportunity for fans to see formalized a highly anticipated project, the Diablo II : Resurrected.
Blizzard officialise Diablo II : Resurrected
A few years ago, the original creators of Diablo were convinced that Blizzard would not be making a remake / remaster of Diablo II. This is because they explained that they had lost a lot of elements, graphics in particular, of the game – a stupid loss of backup at the time – which meant that the studio would have to do almost everything from scratch if it wanted to offer a new version of this cult game.
Widely modernized graphics and increased framerate
That being said, a recent rumor hinted that such a remaster would indeed see the light of day and it turns out today that this rumor was correct. Indeed, during BlizzConline, Blizzard formalized this Diablo II: Resurrected. This is a remaster of the game Diablo II released in 2000, 21 years ago anyway.
And as you can see in the short presentation video below, the graphics have been greatly improved, to give the appearance of a modern game, very close to its successor Diablo III. It also seems that Blizzard wanted to increase the framerate because the gameplay seems very smooth in the video, which is obviously a good thing.
This version of Diablo II will be launched on a large number of platforms: PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series S and X and it will also be possible to save your progress between platforms. Also note, the game will include the Lord of Terror expansion.
Diablo II Release Date
Unfortunately, for the moment, no date of availability for this Diablo II: Resurrected but it should arrive before the end of this year 2021.
To be continued!
