As many Diablo fans eagerly await the upcoming release of Diablo 4, ActivisionBlizzard revealed that the Season 28 of Diablo 3 will be released on February 24.
Diablo 3 was first released in 2012, and through regular updates it has been improved and brought back to veteran players, which may be a trend that continues with Diablo 4.
Fans are still celebrating Diablo 2 all these years later, but Diablo 3 and its regiment of content are also a testament to the longevity of Activision Blizzard’s action-RPG series.
Diablo 3 initially launched with some criticism for its real-money auction house and the type of gameplay it encouraged, but the Reaper of Souls expansion brought back initially disturbed fans, and Season 28 may also help increase the number of players.
Activision Blizzard has confirmed that Diablo 3 Season 28 will launch after a period on the public test domain on February 24, and its theme revolves around the Rites of Sanctuary. Players will be able to travel to what’s called the Altar of Rites as part of this new seasonal theme, and will need to sacrifice certain materials there to unlock significant power that will last throughout the season.
Like many previous seasons of Diablo 3, Season 28 will include limited-time journeys and cosmetic rewards, Seasonal Conquests, new class sets, and the expected bug and item fixes.
