There are a wide variety of weapons inside Destiny 2and now Eclipse, the next expansion, beyond a new space magic subclass that will allow Guardians to manipulate threads of life, the update will bring major changes to in-game weapon crafting .
That’s right, for expansion Eclipse and next year, Bungie is looking to strike the right balance between obtaining weapons and crafting them, so one of those major changes will be a smaller pool of weapons that can be crafted while d Other weapons can be “upgraded” so they can be on a par with their custom siblings.
The game master, Joe Blackburn explained in a new Bungie blog post that the studio’s goal is to “create standalone pursuits for crafted and uncrafted weapons, starting with Lightfall. Fewer weapons will be able to be crafted in total, and more weapons can be made with long-term sources.”
So taking advantage of random buff rolls, which in turn will allow uncrafted weapons to “match” with in-game crafted weapons, and more uncrafted weapons, starting with new Raid Adepts this year, they will have the ability to be upgraded.
Upgrading a weapon will allow these tools to level up while gaining access to both enhanced perks and enhanced properties. The problem here is that only upgraded versions of perks and masterworks that are already on the version of the weapon you are upgrading will be available. You will need to be prepared with enough time and resources, a weapon with a random set of perks can be upgraded to rival the full power of a crafted weapon.
Bungie aims to implement this new system starting with Season of Depth, which will arrive a few months after the release of Eclipse at the same time as Season of Trials: “In the long term, we want to extend this functionality to most of our new weapons. not manufactured, but there are technical hurdles that we need to overcome first,” Blackburn added.
Destiny 2 has a host of other weapon tweaks in sight once the next expansion goes live, which is why Bungie has been rolling out details over the past few weeks, including Linear Fusion Rifles getting a huge boost. nerfed, and revamped heavy weapons will arrive as well as several deadly new Eclipse Exotics.
