There are two Exotic Catalysts that have arrived in Destiny 2 with the launch of Season of Arrivals. One for the Witherhoard GL and one for the Trinity Ghoul bow. Unlike Witherhoard’s, Trinity Ghoul’s doesn’t require completing an elaborate series of quests. If you are interested in that, you can check out our detailed Witherhoard Catalyst guide. This guide will help you learn everything about how to find the Trinity Ghoul Catalyst and what it does in Destiny 2 Arrivals Season.

Destiny 2 Season Arrivals Trinity Ghoul Catalyst

Trinity Ghoul in the game is an exotic power bow with two basic perks:

split electron Fires an arrow that snaps when released. Aiming down sights and drawing the bow fully reduce spread.
Lightning rod Precision kills grant the ability to chain lightning on the next hit.

While perfectly usable, Trinity Ghoul always felt lackluster in both PvE and PvP, requiring players to be extremely precise. The newly introduced Catalyst in Season of Arrivals changes this substantially, making it a very viable option in any business.

Before we talk about how to get the catalyst, let’s talk about what it does. When fully honed with the catalyst, in addition to the usual orb of light generation on multiple kills, the catalyst also provides the Trinity Ghoul the Forked Lightning buff. What this perk does is it takes the Lightning Rod and upgrades it.

With Forked Lightning active, the Lightning Rod fires on any Arc Damage final hit. While not confirmed, it also reduces reload time and draw time. If I have to explain it in simpler terms, the catalyst essentially turns the bow into a Riskrunner.

It makes the weapon so much better, especially in PvE, where it originally struggled to remove adds effectively. With that said, let’s talk about unlocking the catalyst itself.

How to get the catalyst?

While Witherhoard Catalyst has a quest line attached to it, Trinity Ghoul’s is set in the open world. People have reported encountering it in various PvE activities, most notably in Vanguard Strikes and Gambit matches.

Chances are you’ll find this while trying to complete your 3 weekly raids for the Pinnacle. I found mine on my first Strike. After acquisition, you will have to kill 400 enemies with it to complete it.

I would suggest going to Shuru Chi or Castellum to complete it effectively. Another good option is the Green Room in the Whisper of the Worm quest, but it’s timed.

This is how you can find and complete the Trinity Ghoul Catalyst in Destiny 2 Season of Arrivals. For more help with the game, you can check out our detailed Destiny 2 wiki guides.
