With the Destiny Lightfall expansion just weeks away, Bungie has announced the Destiny 2 Year 6 Content Vault, revealing everything coming out of Season 20 of its space FPS game. In an attempt to keep things busy and avoid overloading players with too many destinations active at once, Bungie is removing certain older destinations and content from Destiny 2 each year, while emphasizing that these may always return in future updates.
Destinations that will depart when Lightfall and Destiny 2 Season 20 launch are HELM Wings for Crown of Sorrow and Rasputin Exo Frame, Psisorium, Warmind Launch Facility, Derelict Leviathan, and Eliksni Quarter of the Last City. Of these, what saddens me the most is seeing that the Eliksni neighborhood will no longer be accessible – fixing it to make it a home for the House of Fallen Light was a special moment, so I’m sad that he is not to be here at the moment. Hopefully we can see it again one day, all built and animated.
Destiny 2 Season 5’s four campaigns are disappearing: Seasons Risen, Charmed, Plundered, and Seraph, for those of you keeping score. We’ll also be missing out on a variety of activities, including Nightmare Containment, Ketchcrash, and various Expeditions and Hideouts. Once the update is released on February 28, these campaigns and activities will be removed from your inventory and will no longer be accessible in-game, so be sure to clear any leftovers before that date.
A number of Exotic quests will also disappear, though Bungie notes that under certain circumstances, their associated Destiny 2 Exotics may continue to be earned in-game through other means. Related items, quests, and parts will also be removed from player inventories. however, destination materials will simply become unusable and will instead need to be manually removed from player inventories.
