There is a problematic Destiny 2 Lightfall bug that causes players and weapons to disappear in the space FPS game. In addition to the obvious ramifications of near-invisible players operating in PvE and PvP content, the issue also prevents the reticle from working properly. Fortunately, Bungie says they have located the source of the Destiny 2 crash and are investigating the issue further.
The glitch renders players and their weapons invisible, with a slight visual glow that somewhat resembles a hunter using their class’s invisibility. This also appears for other players, meaning some Guardians in your game may be affected. In addition to visual effects, it appears that this bug prevents you from using your crosshairs and may also cause unexpected effects when firing certain weapons.
The Bungie Support Twitter account says they have located the cause. Reports: “We are investigating an issue where some player characters and weapons appear invisible after repeated interactions with the post-activity recommendation screen.” The team recommended Affected players should restart the game to resolve the issue while it searches for a solution.
This isn’t really the first instance of this particular issue – it’s been reported since Season of the Splicer, and the video below shows it in action. However, it has been reported much more frequently by players since Lightfall was released. This is obviously a big problem for players in PvP, but it can also cause a lot of problems for players trying to take on more difficult group content.
Hopefully, now that Bungie has officially acknowledged the issue, it will be fixed before the Destiny 2 Lightfall raid release date, then.
