With one week until Cyberpunk 2077 Ray Tracing Overdrive mode arrives on April 11, Nvidia and CD Projekt Red have released new images of the upcoming update. Naturally, it’s packed with nice route layouts, with image comparisons and performance metrics.
This graphical brilliance is as beautiful as it is demanding, so it’s no surprise you need one of the best graphics cards to run it.
Currently, we’ve only seen footage of the Cyberpunk 2077 update running on the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090, with and without DLSS 3. Luckily, we won’t have to wait long to find out how other pixel boosters like the RTX 4080 or AMD Tarif Radeon RX 7900. XT against the newly drawn streets of Night City.
Watching the trailer, it’s immediately apparent to me that features like RTX direct illumination and full ray-traced global illumination transform the look of CD Projket Red’s RPG game for the better. Just be sure to keep performance expectations in check before activating the ray-tracing preset on April 11. From the sounds of it, Nvidia DLSS 3 will be a must to keep things playable, but you can expect our official word shortly after. launch.
