Crytek’s ‘shooter’ returns with a new installment after the remastered collection released a few months ago, and presents a first video.

The Crysis saga will return with a fourth installment , as Crytek has just announced with a short teaser in the form of a video. After the launch last October of Crysis Remastered Trilogy , a remastered collection with the original trilogy for consoles and PC, many expected the saga to return and now Crysis 4 is already a reality. These shooters stood out for showing the technical muscle of CryEngine, its graphics engine, although it hasn’t been as widely adopted by the industry as Unreal Engine or Unity.

At the moment no further details are known , neither an approximate date nor platforms, although it will surely come out at least for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S , although we will have to wait if they leave aside the previous generation. They have only said that it is in a very early phase of its development , so we will still have to wait to see it in action.

There were no leaks or rumors that had pointed to Crysis 4 , although the possibility of a battle royale in the Crysis universe had been mentioned taking advantage of the furor of these games and even of Ryse 2 , sequel to Ryse: Son of Rome , this time multi platform.

You can now play the trilogy on PC consoles

Crysis 3 was released in 2013 and since then the series has remained silent until the recent remasters , which made resolution improvements, added ray-tracing effects and other lighting adjustments. “These versions are vastly superior to what we’ve seen on consoles and may justify buying it again if you love the series or have been curious about Crytek’s games, but the improvements are rather small and it’s essentially the PC version with other illumination”, we told in his analysis . The saga combines action with stealth and other tactics thanks to the Nanosuit, with which the player can enjoy superhuman strength, speed and optical camouflage.
