Chilla’s Art has announced the title of its new horror game: Night Security. There is no news on when it will be released. In Night Security, you will play the role of a night watchman who works alone. But when mysterious things start happening, you have to go investigate what’s going on. (Thanks, Famitsu!)
Night Security will be available in English and Japanese. There aren’t many plot or gameplay details yet. Unlike Chilla’s Art games like Karaoke, which include mini-games, Night Security seems to go back to Chilla’s Art’s more classic gameplay roots, which is a walking simulator with horror and puzzle-solving elements.
While a night security guard experiencing paranormal activity while working the night shift alone is certainly not a new horror concept, Five Nights at Freddy’s popularized it with modern audiences. But while FNAF focuses on creepy jumps, Chilla’s Art games lean more towards psychological J-Horror. Then Night Security will use the atmosphere to scare players.
Chilla’s Art horror games like Night Security are typically walking simulators where you explore an environment and use the objects you find to understand the overall lore of the game. Streamers often play games from the studio soon after their exit. Some popular ones include The closing shift there the convenience store.
Night Security is under development and will be released for Windows PCs.
