The survival game Chernobylite is not only suitable for bridging the waiting time for STALKER 2. The horror survival shooter from the Polish studio The Farm 51 aims to cast its spell over you with exciting sneaking and shooting action.
Chernobylite has been in Early Access since October 2019. Now a new trailer gives the approximate release date. In addition, a new update on Steam gives you a foretaste of the release version.
Horror and survival around the Chernobyl reactor
What does Chernobylite have to offer? The action game combines survival and horror elements with exciting battles. As an ex-physicist at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, you explore a large game world that has changed a lot after the disaster there.
In addition to treasure hunters, there are also mysterious creatures in the exclusion zone. That makes it difficult to survive. You look for equipment and raw materials, build your own shelter, try to avoid military patrols and the mutants and find clues to the whereabouts of your missing girlfriend.
It is necessary to manufacture weapons and equipment in order to defend you against the numerous threats. It is possible that you will ally yourself with NPCs in the zone and thus build a group that has a better chance of surviving together.
Release, trailer and update: That’s what Chernobylite is currently doing
When does the game come out? According to the trailer, you can jump into the adventure in July. An exact release date has not yet been announced, but you can look forward to summer.
What does the new trailer show? In addition to the approximate release date, the trailer also shows you some of the interesting places and gruesome creatures that await you around the nuclear reactor. Not only do you shoot any contaminated creatures, but you also collect clues about the whereabouts of your loved ones and join forces with other survivors.

What’s in the big update? To prepare Chernobylite for the July release, a mega-patch for the Early Access version was released on Steam.
The update brings some major changes and innovations. Including:
- The story has been revised
- There is the first part of a new level to explore, which gets you in the mood for the grand finale of the story
- You will meet four new NPCs who will become important as the story progresses
- It is possible to equip your NPC companions with weapons and armor
- The storage system has been revised
- The heavily armored soldier was added as a new enemy
- After your death you will now lose valuable, randomly determined items from your inventory
- Nvidia’s DLSS is supported to improve performance
- There are optimizations in the areas of graphics, AI, combat, balaning and more
