Extremely OK Games, the studio behind two excellent productions, namely Celeste and TowerFall Ascension, has just teased their next title today.

Indeed, it is through their official Twitter account that Extremely OK Games unveiled the news. The studio, still headed by Maddy Thorson, is currently working on Earthblade, a pixel art exploration and action game.

It took us four prototypes to find Earthblade, and (…) now it seems optimistic to say out loud that Earthblade could be released within the next five years after Celeste’s release. The truth is, we don’t know how long it will take, just that it will take as long as it takes (and it will take a long time). Maddy Thorson

Unfortunately, the title, still very mysterious, does not seem about to land on our favorite machines. Maddy Thorson then clarified on the official website of Extremely OK Games that the development of the game is still in its infancy.

I am so excited about this project. I can see it all in my head. Not perfectly – most of the details are still pretty hazy and I’m sure a lot will change along the way – but I can see the general form of the title (…). It is now our duty to transform this fleeting, virgin mental object into a real, imperfect, human object. We will be there, slowly tackling this task every day. We really hope that in the end some of you will enjoy what we are making. Maddy Thorson

As a reminder, TowerFall Ascension had a score of 17 out of 20 in our columns, and Celeste left with a very nice 18 out of 20. Suffice to say that we are impatiently awaiting this Earthblade.
