We’re halfway through Call of Duty Mobile Season 2 and it’s time to turn our attention to CoDM Season 3.
You will recall that the season numbering was reset, with Season 1, New Order, instead of Season 14. The next season for 2021 will be Season 3 in mid-April.
Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming season of Call of Duty Mobile .
When will CoD Mobile Season 3 start?
The next season of Call of Duty Mobile will likely begin on March 16, when season 2 ends.
What’s Coming to Call of Duty Season 3?
Season 2 started recently, so we’re a bit far from the next update, and we’re a bit clear on the leaks, unless you count a few items that have appeared in the China version of the game.
New weapons
The PP19 Bizon has been confirmed to come to Call of Duty Mobile. This is a popular SMG in PUBG Mobile, so it’s great to see it appear in the mobile version of Call of Duty. The Bizon is best known for its high rate of fire and large magazine capacity, making it likely a winner on small maps in close combat.
New map
A map of the monastery appeared in the Chinese beta version and there is some gameplay that we can see thanks to YouTube.
This looks a bit like the type of game you find on the current Tunisia map, so we think it would rank as a new multiplayer option for all game modes, although there is no confirmation that we will get it.
However, Activision officially teased a new map, which is supposedly called Coastal. It is said to be a small map for multiplayer games and is currently in the Chinese version of CODM. There is a mix of indoor and outdoor locations on this map and we look forward to hearing more about it before the launch of Season 3.
Previously, the developers had confirmed that the classic Nuketown map would return to the game. During the winter months, Nuketown Russia has replaced the normal Nuketown map, although there is no confirmation as to when this change will take place. With the onset of spring, that change could come in season 3.
New game modes
Activsion has confirmed that the zombie map, Shi No Numa, will return to the Chinese version of the game, and that the zombies will return to Call of Duty Mobile “later in the year.”
If you recall, the zombies element was removed in March 2020, a year ago, and Activision said at the time that it did not meet expectations. At the same time, the company said that zombies could return in the future, and now we know that’s in the cards – it’s in the Chinese beta, and it looks like China will get it first.
A reminder of what was added for Call of Duty Mobile Season 2
New weapons
The AS VAL was added to the game. The AS VAL is a Russian rifle with an integrated suppressor, designed for stealth but with great stopping power. It was first introduced in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The AS VAL is a free reward from the Battle Pass.
In addition to the AS VAL, Season 2 introduced another marksman rifle: the SP-R 208, previously seen in Warzone. This is a popular weapon, due to the power and reload speed, while the bolt action is faster than most other bolt-action rifles in the game. It should be a popular choice for maps like Crossfire.
The SP-R 208 is an event reward, so you will need to complete all challenges to add it to your arsenal.
In addition to the new weapons, there is also a new streak: Napalm. You can relive those vibes of Vietnam with air support, raining fire on your enemies.
New maps
Added a new map: Shoot House. Again, this is a Modern Warfare map, designed for MP games. It’s a kill so it’s designed for faster action.
Activision has posted an entire blog on the map, detailing the design and a few things to think about. It is a small map designed for intensive gameplay, but varied enough to offer many fun options.
Shoot House will be available for Team Death Match, Domination, Hard Point, Kill Confirmed, and more.
Modern Warfare shipping has joined Call of Duty: Mobile.
This replaced the 1944 Shipment map, although it might only be for a limited time.
The map is essentially the same layout as the 1944 map, but the open containers at the top and bottom were straight in Modern Warfare rather than at an angle, meaning you can shoot straight.
New game modes
In addition to the new maps and weapons, there is a new game mode: Gunfight Sniper. This will feature six players and six rounds, as snipers, but the maps listed are all small: cage, shipment, pine, king, etc.
There is also Tank Battle as a new model in Battle Royale. We’ve seen tanks in Battle Royale for some time, but things will change gears for a lot more tank action.
This will be a classified mode game and you will have to collect the components to create a tank: chassis, engine, armor, primary and secondary weapons. Of course, there is also a complete collection of anti-tank weapons! There are three different tank plans.
A new cargo truck has also been added for Battle Royale.
