Call of Duty 2024 could be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, according to a rumor

A new rumor claims that the Call of Duty who will arrive in 2024 could be released for previous-gen consoles, despite the fact that the Call of Duty franchise recently updated its graphics engine for PS5 and Series X | S.

As of this writing, no official details are available, but it’s believed Treyarch will return for Call of Duty 2024.

The Call of Duty franchise has continued its tradition of annual releases and remains one of the most popular game franchises in the world.

The most recent release, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, proved to be a massive hit for the series, massively outperforming other recent Call of Duty titles and proving the enduring strength of the franchise. Gamers won’t be surprised to learn that Call of Duty (2024) is in development, as the series hasn’t missed its annual fixture since 2005.

Now comes a rumor that Call of Duty 2024 will be coming to previous-gen consoles, thanks to leaker Tom Henderson, who claims that documents provided to the site following Activision’s recent data leak confirm the news.

While many expected Call of Duty games to ditch previous generations in favor of the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, it’s not a huge surprise. Many gamers are still using older consoles, and despite the fact that the current generation is already a few years old, the lack of availability has prevented many from upgrading to newer hardware.
