UK-based esports organization Tenstar has announced that it will suspend all operations and shut down for a period of time. As noted in a statement on Twitter, the organization attributed the decision to a lack of funds and resources, which limited Tenstar’s hopes of operating as a premier esports team.

“TENSTAR has had tremendous success over the past 2 years. A demanding organization, with a disruptive mindset. While the club had a solid first 12 months, the previous 11 were incredibly difficult. While the players, support staff and the entire team were amazing, the reality of running an esports club that competes at the highest level means significant resources are required.”

The team also highlighted the challenges of leading an esports team today, mentioning that high-level competition in scenes like Rainbow Six: Siege and Valorant is incredibly difficult due to their “fence” Level 1 events.

This all led to the decision to temporarily close, which the team also acknowledged will include the completion of outstanding payments to staff and players, which they are currently working on.

Tenstar revealed its plans for the future, adding: “We will return, when we are better able to sustain our teams and our staff.”
