Biomutant: System Requirements are surprisingly Small

Biomutant: System Requirements are surprisingly Small

A lot of content in a small space: Biomutant doesn’t want to be a big blockbuster, but it still promises a lot. An interesting open world with different biomes, a wide arsenal, four super bosses that threaten the world.

Sounds exciting, but also like a memory hog. But the indie developers of Experiment 101 have now announced the system requirements – and Biomutant takes up comparatively little space on your hard drive.

The remaining requirements are also moderate; even a medium-powered PC should at least meet the minimum requirements. Biomutant relies on a rather simple look, which is characterized more by the colorful style than a high level of detail. It is based on the Unreal Engine 4.

System Requirements of Biomutant

Minimum system requirements

  • Operating system: Windows 7/8.1/10 (64 bit)
  • Processor: AMD FX-8350 or Intel Core i5-4690K or newer, 3.5 GHz or higher
  • Random access memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphic card: 4.0 GB, Direct3D 11 capable, Geforce GTX 960 or Radeon R9 380
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Hard disk space: 25 GB of free memory
  • Sound card: Integrated or dedicated Direct 9 compatible sound card

Recommended system requirements

  • Operating system: Windows 10 (64bit)
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 or Intel Core i7-6700K or newer, 3.2 GHz or higher
  • Random access memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: 6.0 GByte Direct3D 11 capable graphics card – Geforce GTX 1660 Ti or Radeon RX 590
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Hard disk space: 25 GB of free memory
  • Sound card: Integrated or dedicated Direct 9 compatible sound card

Biomutant is quite compact with 25 GB, especially for the announced 8×8 kilometer open world, which should be well filled with various opponents, puzzles and environments.

For comparison: Kingdom Come: Deliverance has a world about 4×4 kilometers, so the map of Biomutant is about four times as big. Kingdom Come recommends 90 GB of storage space and requires at least 70 GB. The games differ greatly, both in terms of the engine (UE4 vs. CryEngine) and in terms of appearance.

Biomutant has already been postponed several times, and for a long time there was radio silence around the game. But now the new release date is making great strides – May 25, 2021.
