Remember Baywatch? The TV show that brought Pamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff to international fame for 243 episodes and two feature films between 1989 and 2001. So are we, and we’re not the only ones. Because according to Deadline, it seems that the production company Fremantle is preparing a remake of the mythical series of lifeguards. So far, no names have been attached to the project, suggesting that it is still at a very early stage, but the studio assures that everything is going according to plan.
The announcement means that in the not too distant future, we will have a new version of one of the most watched series in history. In the newsroom, we hope it manages to capture the same feeling as the 90s original, although times have changed and the 90s view of things probably can’t be broadcast in this era.
