The arrival of Bayonetta 3 seems to be becoming clearer: we are now entitled to a classification at the ESRB, a mandatory thing before offering itself for good on the market.

Ketchup Bayo please

After showing itself through a (very) short trailer years ago now, Bayonetta 3 finally seems about to be released. When, we don’t know exactly yet, but it should be in 2022 as Nintendo has already officially announced: inevitably, we then start to scrutinize the schedule and the slightest news about it.

Exactly, the PlatinumGames software has just been classified with the ESRB, the equivalent of the PEGI for us. An organization that is responsible for analyzing the content of games to assign it a recommended age, which often testifies to the good progress of development: in this case, the title has received a “Mature” mention, which corresponds to a minimum age of 17 to put your paws on it.

Witch Kalifa

We can also see the categories “violence” and “nudity” in the main factors, which will not surprise anyone when you know the habits of the witch to exterminate her enemies with natural ease. Finally, more intriguingly, you can see the mention “in-game purchases”a first in the saga that makes us question their nature: will it be microtransactions – for example to acquire weapons or skills more quickly – or real DLC / expansions, planned later?

Pending clarification, this classification at the ESRB could well foresee a release date very soon. Recall that a leaker had just swung, a few days ago, the day of October 28, 2022, in the middle of an already busy calendar since punctuated by Splatoon 3 on September 9, Mario + The Rabbids Sparks of Hope on October 20 or at Pokémon Scarlet / Purple on November 18. We are still waiting for an official confirmation.
