So Battlefield 6 actually offers “more players than ever before” and “maps of unprecedented size”. The company boss Wilson announced now in a conference call on the quarterly results of EA. He confirms a leak from insider Tom Henderson, who had already made several predictions about BF6.

It is therefore certain that Battlefield 2021 for the first time in the series more than 64 players will represent in massive multiplayer battles. According to insider information, up to 128 players, but also classic 32vs32 battles should be possible. Wilson said:

“The next Battlefield will take hallmarks of the series such as destruction, player freedom of movement, weapons and vehicles to a new level.”

We want to show more about BF6 in the spring, which corresponds to our forecasts for a May reveal. The release will take place in the autumn and Christmas business in 2021.

Development already further than planned

There is also an official update on the current state of development. According to EA, they are progressing very well and all core features have been completed earlier than previous titles in the series, according to the statement by CFO Blake Jorgensen:

“The team is doing a fantastic job. At this point in time they are much further along than in previous product cycles and are about to achieve the earliest feature complete in series history.”

In software development, “feature complete” is the point at which all functions are included and corrected for errors. A game is then referred to as a pre-release version and development moves into the product test and quality assurance phase.

“The team is absolutely focused and has its own Goals achieved before our internal schedule” announces EA boss Wilson. Overall, BF6 has been in development longer than most Battlefield games, as we analyzed in our overview.
