Apex Legends will soon be available for smartphones and will start the next season with a new legend.
Where Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds and Fortnite have been for a long time, Apex Legends now also wants to go: On the smartphones of this world. Rumors and hints of a mobile version of the Battle Royale game have often existed in the past, but only now are the cards face up on the table.

However, Apex Legends Mobile will not be a simple port, but will be a stand-alone version. Developer Respawn Entertainment even takes care of it personally.
Apex Legends on Mobile: That’s the Plan
Standalone version in this case means that Apex Legends Mobile regardless of the PC and console version arises. This has the advantage that the implementation is optimized in terms of control and performance for Android and iOS mobile phones right from the start. There should therefore be no adjustment difficulties.
However, the plan also has a downside to some extent. There will be no crossplay, as already exists between PC and consoles. Instead, the mobile players are among themselves and receive their own matchmaking.
Weiterhin Free 2 Play: Even the mobile implementation of Apex Legends will not cost anything in its basic version. However, there will also be microtransactions for cosmetic items and a dedicated Battle Pass. Details are not yet available.
Apex Legends Mobile is adapted for smartphones. This applies to controls and optics.
Beta testing starts small: As usual with smartphone games, Apex Legends Mobile is first tested in smaller regions. The first beta for Android devices should start this month in India and the Philippines. Gradually, the developers want to expand the test regions and enable iOS support.
Pre-registration not yet possible: At this point in time, you cannot register for Apex Legends Mobile in advance on Google Play or in the Appstore. However, this should still be activated in the course of the year.
What’s next for the PC?
The PC version of Apex Legends is meanwhile heading towards the start of Season 9, which may bring some huge changes with it. The story trailer “Northstar”, which the developers published today, provides the first glimpse into the new season. The focus is on the new legend Valkyrie, who benefits from the remains of a titan:

In Season 9 – or whatever the developers call it – Season Legacy there is also a new weapon: the Bocek bow, which is supposed to deal high damage at medium range. In addition, the Olympus map is plagued by a plague that is spreading its roots everywhere. Respawn has not yet given any more details on the official website.
The new season for Apex Legends starts on May 4, 2021. Until then, the shooter is still enjoying the finale of Season 8 with a special event in which the rules of the game change every few days. Such events are one of the reasons why the multiplayer shooter is so popular right now:
