Respawn may have only recently launched its Team Death Match mode in Apex Legends, but it’s already undergoing some big changes.
Earlier this week, Apex Legends released its Valentine’s Day Bash update (unfortunately, no link). The season update included the long-awaited Team Death Match mode, but Respawn has already made some big changes to the mode, with the developer stating in the tweet below that the matches were just too long.

As of now, Team Death Match has gone from three rounds per match to just one. Having three matches makes matches “seem too long,” Respawn wrote in the tweet above, but with the removal of multiple rounds, teams will now need 50 kills instead of 30 to claim victory.
This change has received praise from the Apex Legends fanbase, which is a rare thing to find. The most common response to change is “W”, which can be interpreted by anyone speaking on the Internet as “Win” and therefore a good thing.
Elsewhere, a Team Death Match will end immediately when a team leaves completely, and players who leave will be penalized as in Control. These changes, and only Respawn’s general communication, are welcomed in comments citing replies to tweets from players around the world.
“Communication has been on point what W,” read a response to even more internet chatter. “Love how fast they work! writes one fan, while another adds that “the communication is on point (it’s true, it makes the game better) vRespawn’s Respawn is clearly winning a lot of fans with their direct and quick responses from the community (it’s is true, it makes the game better)
Add to Ws for Respawn is a new story tab for apex legendswhich may well be a game-changer for live service titles in the future.
