Amouranth

When female streamers go live on Twitch, they must expect male fans to objectify them because of their looks or their revealing nature.

Twitch streamer Amouranth is no exception. Amouranth is known for her controversial streams where she licks her mics. The streamer also caused a stir with her infamous hot tub videos. The streaming platform Twitch has already banned Amouranth several times for the latter videos.

The streamer has now spoken out about her experiences with objectification and the men who do it to her. Amouranth, whose real name is Kaitlyn Siragusa, sat down for an exclusive interview with Anthony Padilla on his viral YouTube show on Wednesday I Spent A Day With… together. Among other things, she spoke about her controversial streaming career, which began in 2016 at the invitation of Twitch.

She also spoke about the consequences of presenting oneself online in such revealing clothing, such as swatting, death threats, and other forms of hostility.

Object object

When asked by Padilla if she’s “constantly viewed as an object,” Amouranth replied that men have viewed her as an object since she was a child.

Ever since I was 9 I would walk across the street to my boyfriend’s house and the boys would yell at me from the side of the street, ‘What’s up sexy mama?’“, she says. “Welcome to the world of women: If people are already creepy for you, you can pack your bags right away,” she adds.

Aside from the beating and death threats she seems to receive on a regular basis, she told the story of a fan who crossed a line. He is said to have written in her DMs how happy he was to be her boyfriend and to have become engaged to her.

He even went so far as to Photoshop himself into the background of her selfies. You can find out more in the interview.
