Carmaker Alpine has started to unveil its first all-electric hot sedan. It will be called A290_β and will air in a few weeks in a show that will take place on May 9 at 9:30 p.m. BST / 10:30 p.m. CEST.

But before the full reveal, Alpine shared some additional information about the car, such as the fact that it will be the first addition to the “Dream Garage“, which will mean a new era for Alpine as a brand.

On the other hand, Alpine points out that the name of the car signifies different aspects of its design. 2 refers to car size (which probably means it will be a two-door), 90 refers to Alpine “multipurpose sports vehicles”, and the beta symbol refers to the fact that this is a beta version of the car, ahead of its full road launch in 2024.

Participants in this weekend’s Baku Grand Prix have a chance to win an invite to the car’s unveiling by capturing the QR code that will be placed at Alpine’s F1 this weekend.
