Activision Blizzard has confirmed that a new Operator will be joining the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 roster in Season 2. Daniel ‘Ronin’ Shinoda is a returning Operator from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019, bringing your signature . mastery of several fighting styles and different swords.

Daniel ‘Ronin’ Shinoda is the only new Operator coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 in Season 2. released on February 15. He’s a veteran Special Forces fighter returning from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) and uses multiple fighting styles in his unconventional warfare mix. According to the Season 2 Update blog post, his name is derived from a rough translation of “wanderer,” a term used in feudal Japan for a samurai who had no master. He struggles to maintain a balance between the various factions as wars spread to Al-Mazrah and Urzikstan, serving only that incorruptible purpose rather than a single nation.

New missions introduced with Season 2 provide context for the appearance of Daniel “Ronin” Shinoda. You’ll start by making your way through Al-Mazrah, one of the places where Shinoda struggled for balance. Reading the information from these missions might shed some light on what Shinoda has been up to since his last appearance in the series.

If you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber, you can get the Oni Pyroclast Operator Skin for Daniel ‘Ronin’ Shinoda at February 22. This skin makes the operator closer to the samurai he is named for. Activision Blizzard added that PlayStation Plus subscribers can also claim the Season 2 Battle Pack, which includes the Oni Carver SMG Blueprint, Oni Slasher Assault Rifle Blueprint, Crimson Oni Animated Calling Card, Charm of Yoroi weapon, smiling Oni emblem and Golden Dragonfly sticker.

Season 2 will introduce a new set of challenges for players to complete. Path of the Ronin Seasonal Challenges reward players who complete them with various rewards, including a new weapon for future battles. The season also includes five new weapons to play with, giving you plenty to do as you explore the Isle of Ashika with this new Operator.

While Shinoda may be the only new Operator added this season, two new Operator skins will also be releasing alongside him. Players will be able to get the Roze ‘Sheathed Blade’ and Nova ‘Ruthless Pursuit’ skins this season if they want to add them to their collection.
