With many projects in production, the next few years should be very important for the Finnish studio.
If you didn’t enjoy all of Remedy’s works, several to come are eagerly awaited by millions of fans.
Alan Wake 2, Control 2: Remedy gives news of its future games
On the occasion of the publication of the company’s latest economic results, the managers wanted to give news of their projects in production. According to CEO Tero Virtala, Alan Wake 2 would be fully playable and would therefore have entered being refined for release in the coming months:
Alan Wake 2 is in full production. The game will soon have all the content in place and can be played from start to finish. Next, we’ll move on to fine-tuning the experience. Alan Wake is a unique brand that is of great value to the company today.
If the continuation of the adventures of the famous writer continues to receive all the attention within the study, it is just as important that Control 2 is also under development. Still according to Virtala, this second episode “will develop the story and the universe of the original game”. Therefore, the developers worked on “Detailed concepts and vision for the game and all creative areas including gameplay, storytelling, and art.”
Therefore, you will have understood, you should not expect to be able to hold the game in your hands for several years… But that’s not all since Remedy also wants to enter the gaming services market, notably with a spin-off Control (code name: Condor) and a free-to-play game called Vanguard.
Codename Condor is a service-based game and as such a new type of game for Remedy. We assembled the right team and the right production model for the game and patiently moved forward with development. Vanguard is also currently in the design stage. In fall 2022, we decided to keep the game longer in this phase and postpone a significant expansion of the development team until 2023.
Finally, we are also talking about the remake of Max Payne 1 & 2 that the studio is developing in collaboration with Rockstar. It is also in its infancy, but the company’s goal is still to release one game per year starting in 2023. A very ambitious roadmap, therefore, hoping that no concessions will be made on quality!
For his part, Alan Wake 2 is therefore planned for 2023 only on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
