The Diablo IV beta is generating a lot of excitement, but also concern. Players are wondering if the new installment in the series will bring them similar issues to Diablo III at launch.

The Diablo 4 beta is fast approaching. Those with pre-orders will be able to check out the game tomorrow, and next weekend all players will have a chance to join in on the fun. At least in theory, because Netizens have concerns about the testing process, noting, among other things, the infamous “Error 37” (Error 37).

Diablo III’s Legendary (and Hated) Mistake

The bug in question appeared almost 11 years ago, just before the release of the highly anticipated Diablo III. In mid-May 2012, Blizzard Entertainment reported that when trying to connect to the game, you might get an “Error 37” if you didn’t connect to the server within 40 seconds (because that was supposed to be the maximum waiting time). If this should happen, as stated, the user should simply try to log in again.

This seems like a standard warning that servers might struggle to accommodate the large number of people wanting to play the new Diablo. At least that’s what Blizzard says. Upon release, however, Diablo 3 However, players saw “Error 37” so frequently that some struggled to join the game for up to 24 hours. (see more).

It’s fair to add that the problem was “only” with the connection. After joining the game, there were usually no issues with the servers.

Diablo 4 beta like Diablo 3 at launch?

“Error 37” quickly became a meme and, in a way, a symbol of the problems that come with the release of Blizzard games. The memory of this mistake still lives on today and players have concerns about testing and the release of Diablo 4.

There is no shortage of online comments reminiscent of the infamous “thirty-seven”. Some fans are taking a humorous approach to the issue, such as waiting for an “update” on “error 38”. However, there are more people who are waiting for a repeat of the situation with the D4 beta and therefore have no intention of taking a break this time around.

Mentions of “bug 37” and similar issues around the release of Overwatch 2 (partly caused by hackers), DLC for World of Warcraft, etc., are the reason many Blizzard fans weren’t not particularly pleased with the news regarding the requirement. Internet connection in the new Diablo. Especially since this time it applies even to people who are only interested in the single player mode (as a reminder: D4 is a pseudo-MMO game, if you will).

open beta test Diablo IV it will take place from March 24-27, but the Early Access weekend will begin tomorrow. For more information, see our previous article. The full version of the game will debut on June 6.
