Overwatch 2 is much more open to integrating collaborations with other franchises than the original game. These crosses can bring a bit more fun to the game, especially for anyone who enjoys both properties. There are plenty of possibilities when it comes to portraying characters from other series in Overwatch 2, but there are some we’d rather see than others. Here are the skin collaborations we want to see for certain heroes in Overwatch 2.

Crossover Skins We Want To See In Overwatch 2

For the following crossover skins, we are thinking of only cosmetic changes to the available characters. We don’t want to put the other franchises in Overwatch 2. We want the heroes to dress like those characters.

Autobot Stronghold

We start our list with Bastion getting a transformers fur. This could honestly work for Autobots or Decepticons, but we think Optimus Prime and Bumblebee are the two most popular and likely choices. Bastion is a nightmare for lower ranked players when he transforms into his turret form, and his Ultimate transforms him into an artillery gun. Of course, it doesn’t quite match the vehicles the two Transformers stars become, but it would make a nice cosmetic change.

Reinhardt Brotherhood of Steel

The Brotherhood of Steel is an aggressive, militaristic group that hates Abominations and wears great power armor throughout the Fallout franchise. Sure, we could have standard power armor for Reinhardt in Overwatch 2, but we like the idea of this tank being part of a larger group rather than a lone wanderer. They could distort his voice to sound like he’s speaking through mechanized armor, and give his shield the neon nuclear green color you’d see on your Pip-Boy. If Microsoft acquires Activision Blizzard, we could see this Bethesda collaboration come to fruition.

Cyclops Soldier: 76

When you think of Soldier: 76, you’ll probably be drawn to his tactical range he uses for his Ultimate. While his visor is used very differently from Cyclops’s in the x-men franchise, we’d like to see a crossover with the Marvel Universe. When considering which iterations of the character we’d like to see portrayed, Soldier dressed in 90s cartoon attire would be a sight to behold. Also, a Beast skin for Winston would also work.

Doomsday Slayer’s Reaper

Reaper doesn’t have the same type of arsenal as the Doomslayer from the Doom games. We think balancing the BFG in Overwatch would be pretty impossible, but a Doom Guy skin for Reaper could make a lot of sense. Throw him some green armor and helmet and swap out his normal weapons for a pair of Super Shotguns, and you’ve got yourself a gameplay crossover that many longtime shooter fans can get.

donkey kong winston

This is one of the really long stretches we did on this list. Although Overwatch 2 is available on Nintendo Switch, we highly doubt they’d be okay with including one of their franchise icons in a shooter. That being said, Mario has weapons in the Rabbids games, so we might see them in the lead. Put a tie on him, paint him brown, and turn his jump packs into barrels so he really represents DK out there. We don’t think the Donkey Kong 64 coconut gun will work as a trade since we’re trying to keep Winston with the same character, but the gun could be wooden the same way.

flash tracker

The DC Universe’s Flash is a speedster, and the only Overwatch 2 character who truly fits that description is Tracer. Sure, his methods of speed are different, but Tracer could definitely don the red and yellow costume and make it look cool. Put a lightning logo on your Chronal Accelerator, and each time it flashes, have it leave a little trail of lightning. It would be a perfect fit.

Hamtaro wrecking ball

You knowImage via TMS Kyokuichi Corp.

One of the most unexpected and silly crossovers we’d love to see is classic manga and anime star Hamtaro portrayed in Wrecking Ball. Hammond’s fur should be adjusted to match the character, and his rolling mechanism could turn into a transparent hamster ball. We’d also like to see his normal voice lines replaced with the usual “Ham-ha” style language used by characters on the show.

Han Solo Cassidy

In our opinion, there aren’t many Star Wars characters that translate well to Overwatch. However, one of the exceptions to this would be Cassidy dressing up as Han Solo. Replace his usual revolver with a blaster (accompanied by sound effects) and give him the iconic hairstyle and vest from the movies for some awesome cross skin. Winston might also dress up as Chewbacca to ensure the duo is represented.

Roadhog leather face

We highly doubt Overwatch 2 will incorporate elements of true horror into the game, but if they were to bring a creepy movie killer, we think Roadhog dresses up as Leatherface from The Massacre in Texas Makes more sense. He already wears a leather mask that could be changed to, well, you know, and his grappling hook could be covered in blood and make the character he grabs scream in fear when he lands it. Again, this will almost certainly never happen, but the idea is there.

Vegeta Bautista

If another anime crossover is coming to Overwatch 2, we’d love to see Dragon Ball Z represented. From a stylistic point of view, Baptiste would be a perfect candidate to embody Vegeta in his Saiyan armor from his first appearances. The tracker is already there, in addition to putting him in the blue armor and giving him a weapon that looks like any of Frieza’s forces could have wielded it.
