Galaxy S21: Specs, 5G, price and features of Samsung’s new smartphone

It had been widely leaked in recent weeks, and it is now official: the range of Samsung Galaxy S21 smartphones has just been presented by the manufacturer, and pre-orders are already open for an arrival on the market on Friday 29 January.

The suspense was almost non-existent regarding the Samsung Galaxy S21, S21+ et S21 Ultra, but at least their datasheets are now official. The South Korean manufacturer has lifted the veil on its new range of 5G mobile terminals on the occasion of his Galaxy Unpacked conference. As expected, three smartphones and a few accessories were presented, and the pre-order phase is already launched until January 28.

Baptized Samsung Galaxy S21 5G, the new flagship terminal of this new range is therefore a smartphone from 6.2 inch, with an Infinity Dynamic AMOLED screen displaying Full HD + definition (2400 x 1080 pixels) and benefiting from refresh rate up to 120 Hz. Inside there is a processor Exynos 2100, 8 GB of RAM, a storage space of 128 or 256 GB and a 4000 mAh battery, compatible with both 25W fast charging and 15W wireless charging from the manufacturer. On this side, we also find the energy sharing, which allows for example to recharge a pair of wireless headphones by simply placing it on the back of the smartphone.

The photo part of the Samsung Galaxy S21 consists, on the back, of three sensors: a main one with x3 hybrid zoom of 64 megapixels, a Dual Pixel of 12 megapixels and an ultra wide-angle of 12 megapixels. Everything is capable of filming up to 8K, but also in 4K at 60 frames per second and in Full HD at 120 frames per second. As a front camera, there is a 10 megapixel Dual Pixel sensor with HDR + support, motion and voice control.

The other specific features of the terminal consist in particular of the WiFi 6E, du Bluetooth 5.2, stereo speakers designed by AKG compatible with Dolby Atmos, an IP68 certification that protects it against water and dust and a fingerprint reader located under the screen. Note also that the storage memory of the Samsung Galaxy S21 is not expandable, and that the terminal is delivered without charger. Count 859 euros for its 128 GB version, and 909 euros for its 256 GB version.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus, for its part, shares a large majority of its specifications with the S21. Among the differences, we can mention a screen diagonal of 6.7 inch and a battery of 4800 mAh. Its prices are 1049 euros for the 128 GB version and 1099 euros for the 256 GB version.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G Spec Sheet

As one can imagine, the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is the new high-end terminal from Samsung. It embeds a 6.8-inch diagonal Infinity Super AMOLED display, displays a Quad HD + definition and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. If it shares the same Exynos 2100 processor as the previous models, it embeds up to 16 GB of RAM and it comes in versions 128, 256 et 512 Go. It is also impossible to expand the storage space here.

Photo side, its main camera consists of five sensors : a 108-megapixel model, a 12-megapixel Dual Pixels ultra-wide angle, a 10-megapixel x3 optical zoom sensor, another with 10-megapixel x10 optical zoom as well, and finally a ToF. It has the same video recording properties as the S21. In front, we find a 40-megapixel Dual Pixel sensor with HDR10 + support, palm detection and voice control.

A battery of 5000 mAh is there, with 25W fast charge, 15W wireless charging and energy sharing mode. WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, fingerprint sensor under the screen… again, everything is shared with the other models in the range. Price side, count 1359 euros for the 128 GB version, 1409 euros for the 256 GB version and finally 1539 euros for the 512 GB version.

Confirmed accessories, offered during pre-orders

Open Secrets, the Galaxy Smart Tag and wireless headphones Galaxy Buds Pro were also formalized during the conference. The first is un tracker Bluetooth that hangs on a backpack, keyring or any other accessory that you are likely to find in your environment. A beacon, in short, making it possible to find a lost object even through walls thanks to ultra-wideband technology. The Galaxy Smart Tag is compatible with the entire range of Galaxy S21 smartphones and a copy is also offered with each terminal for any pre-order until January 28.

On their side, the Galaxy Buds Pro are the new model of wireless headphones from Samsung, especially equipped with active noise reduction technology. IPX7 certified, they therefore withstand immersion in a meter of water for 30 minutes, enjoy an autonomy of up to 28 hours, and display a price of 229 euros. They are free for any pre-order of a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G.

On their side, buyers of a Galaxy S21 5G or S21 + 5G will receive, in addition to a Galaxy Smart Tag, a pair of Galaxy Buds Live wireless headphones valued at 199 euros. Provided, again, to pre-order before January 28, the official date of arrival on the market for all these new products being set for January 29.
