Kalush Orchestra is a  rap group  mixing traditional Ukrainian music made up of six members, Oleh Psiuk, Ihor Didenchuk, MC Kilimmen, Tymofii Muzychuk, Oleksandr Slobodianyk and Vitalii Duzhyk. To travel to Turin, the members were granted  special permission  to leave Ukrainian territory.

Kalush Orchestra is actually an extension of Kalush, the central core of the rap collective and trio made up of the first three members of the previously mentioned list. When they were created in 2019, the group was called “Kalush” which is the name of the city of Oleh Psiuk, the one who appears with a pink bob. Ne marynui , the trio’s first music video released on October 17, 2019, was shot in the streets of the city.

A month later, in November 2019, Kalush signed with Def Jam Recordings. It will take them more than a year to release their first album: Hotin  unveiled on February 19, 2021. This year is very important in the group’s career since it also unveils its second project on July 23, a seven-track EP. in collaboration with Skofka.

It was also this year that Kalush Orchestra was born. The trio calls on three new members, who play several instruments and allow the group to add a folkloric touch to its music.

It is together that they passed the preselections in Ukraine to designate the representative of the country at Eurovision thanks to their title  Stefania . The group had yet finished second behind singer Alina Pash. The latter nevertheless withdrew following controversies due to her trips to Crimea, leaving the field open to Kalush Orchestra to go to Turin and lead Ukraine to victory.
