The character Loki has a lot of stories to tell.
The first episode of the second season of Loki introduced everyone to the character Hunter X-05, but he ended up defecting from TVA. In the second episode, the character reappears, but in an alternative timeline and under the name of Brad Wolfe, which may sound very familiar to those who follow Marvel comics.
Who is Brad Wolfe?
Brad Wolfe appears in Loki as an actor who is in the movie Zaniac, another mention of the Marvel comics. Zaniac is a character created by Doug Moench and Keith Pollard in 1982 as an entity working at the behest of Dormammu. He has several hosts, one of whom is actor Brad Wolfe, who plays a fictionalized version of Zaniac in a horror film.
Wolfe gains superhuman abilities with the acquisition, but is eventually driven mad by the entity. He becomes an adversary of Thor, who teams up with a TVA agent called Justice Peace to put an end to his antics.
Zaniac in Loki
Apparently there’s nothing wrong with Brad Wolfe in Loki, he’s simply an actor in the movie Zaniac. Deleeuw, who directed the second episode, spoke to GamesRadar about the references to the comics, but warned fans that Wolfe isn’t necessarily the Zaniac they were expecting.
“I think within the multiverse, in terms of him being Brad Wolfe, he’s in a timeline that hasn’t really gone to the evil version of that. Go back a few timelines and you’ll probably find someone who looks more like the villain character.”
