The Witcher: the production of season 3 is temporarily halted

The Covid-19 still poses a problem for Netflix’s The Witcher television series.

This is not the first time that the filming of The Witcher in the UK is set to halt due to Covid-19, with the TV series having already halted production of the second season for several weeks in 2020. The news comes amid unconfirmed online rumors that star Henry Cavill reportedly tested positive for the virus, but the streaming platform Netflix is content to officially state that filming has been “interrupted due to Covid-19 and that we will be operational as soon as it is safe to do so.”

The Witcher season 3 will be delayed, but aims for 2023

The Witcher’s third season doesn’t yet have an air date, but . The story will pick up where the second season left off. The net is closing in on Ciri, with Nilfgaard, Redania, and the Kings of the North all out to capture – or, worse, kill – Cintra’s cub. Francesca and the other elves also have Ciri in their sights, who is now under the protection of Geralt and Yennefer. Betrayal is expected to be at the heart of Season 3. Aretuza and his mages are seemingly split over who they should serve, while Jaskier is pocketed by Dijkstra and Redania.
