The films The Power of the Dog (“The power of the dog”) -with 12 nominations-, “Dune” (10), “Belfast” (7) and West Side Story (7) confirmed the forecasts and lead the nominations for the Oscar that were announced this Tuesday.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awards ceremony will be held in Los Angeles on March 27 .
The Academy confirmed that this year the gala will have a presenter or presenter, but has not yet revealed who it will be.
Latin America is represented with nominations in different categories, such as best animated short film for “Bestia” by Chilean Hugo Covarrubias, or best animated film for “Raya y el último dragon” by Mexican Carlos López Estrada.
In addition, despite not being nominated for best director, the Mexican Guillermo del Toro can boast of the multiple nominations for his film Nightmare Alley (“The alley of lost souls”). which opts, among others, for the Oscar for best film.
