Netflix will adapt ‘El juego del alma’, the sequel to ‘La chica de Nieve’ and the novel ‘El cuco de cristal’ by Javier Castillo.
It was one of the first premieres of the year and undoubtedly became a success. Therefore, Netflix has not hesitated to bet heavily on ‘La chica de nieve’. Thus, the platform has decided to adapt the continuation of the novel by Javier Castillo.
Thus, Netflix is already working on the adaptation of ‘El juego del alma’, which is the continuation of ‘La chica de nieve’. This new production will follow the steps of Miren in the investigation of a new case so it is expected to keep part of the cast headed by Milena Smit.
But in addition to betting on the continuation of ‘La chica de nieve’, Netflix has decided to adapt another of the latest novels by Javier Castillo. We are talking about ‘El cuco de cristal’, a novel published by Penguin Random House in February this year and that after less than two months has become a literary success.
The success of ‘The Snow Girl
The phenomenon of ‘The Snow Girl’ on Netflix reached in its premiere week the global top 1 of most watched non-English speaking series and was in the Top 10 in 77 countries for several weeks. In fact, it came to lead in territories such as France, Sweden or Belgium, in addition to Spain.
In this sense, according to Netflix data, ‘The Snow Girl’ occupied the first global position in the week from January 20 to February 5 with more than 50 million hours viewed.
This is what ‘The Soul Game’ looks like
The novel of ‘The Game of the Soul’ starts with the appearance of a fifteen-year-old girl crucified in a suburb outside New York (which in its TV version is Malaga). Miren, an investigative journalist, unexpectedly receives a strange envelope containing the Polaroid of another gagged and bound teenager, with a single annotation: Gina Pebbles, 2002.
Miren will follow the trail of the girl in the image while investigating the crucifixion with her teacher, who in fiction is played by Jose Coronado. They will enter a religious institution where everything is secret and a unique enigma full of suspense in which they will have to decipher three questions with impossible answers: what happened to Gina, who sent the polaroid and, most importantly, are the two stories connected?
And so it is ‘El cuco de cristal’ (The Crystal Cuckoo).
Cora Merlo, a first-year resident physician, suffers a fulminant heart attack that forces her to undergo a heart transplant. Still convalescing, the young woman receives a visit from a strange woman with an enigmatic offer: to spend a few days in Steelville, a small inland town, to learn about the life of her son Charles, the donor of her heart.
Cora thus enters a home full of secrets, in a mystery that spans twenty years and in a hermetic town where, just the day of her arrival, a baby disappears in a public park.
